Farmers of America

Seeing farming through new eyes. Try the sunglasses of a child. When bending over looking at the freshly tilled soil out comes a wiggly worm, the hidden farmer who eats and spits loosening dirt. What about the ice creating framework from one soil particle to another separating the dirt? The deep plowing tractor tines break up the subsoil without bringing it to the surface. Then the primary farmer plows with another tractor to refine the topsoil before it rains and snows again. The greenhouses lengthens the growing season. Even a greenhouse on wheels can travel the field providing shelter for young plants. What a challenge to the deep thinker as he plans nutrient amendments to produce nutrient-dense produce from farm to table. My weeding is for exercise and providing garden therapy for my mother. It is purely volunteer work, and I love it.
